                                    AN ACT
 1   Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
 2      act relating to the public school system, including certain
 3      provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
 4      schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
 5      laws relating thereto," in terms and courses of study,
 6      prohibiting the integration of culturally relevant and
 7      sustaining education into education preparation, induction
 8      and continuing professional development programs; and
 9      abrogating regulations.
10      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
11   hereby enacts as follows:
12      Section 1.    The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
13   as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
14   section to read:
15      Section 1529.    Culturally Relevant and Sustaining Education
16   Prohibited.--(a)    Culturally relevant and sustaining education
17   may not be integrated into education preparation, induction and
18   continuing professional development programs.
19      (b)   The regulations at 22 Pa. Code §§ 49.1 (relating to
20   definitions), 49.13 (relating to policies), 49.14 (relating to
21   approval of institutions and alternative program providers),
1   49.16 (relating to approval of induction plans) and 49.17
2   (relating to continuing professional education) are abrogated
3   insofar as they relate to culturally relevant and sustaining
4   education.
5      Section 2.   This act shall take effect immediately.
