AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, in registration of vehicles, further providing for
3 wild resource conservation plate.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 1352 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 1352. Wild resource conservation plate.
9 (a) Standard wild resource conservation plate.--The
10 department, in consultation with the Wild Resource Conservation
11 Board, shall design a special wild resource conservation
12 registration plate. Upon application of any person, accompanied
13 by a fee of $35 which shall be in addition to the annual
14 registration fee, the department shall issue the plate under
15 this subsection, or the registration plate under subsection (b)
16 for a passenger car, motor home, trailer or truck with a
17 registered gross weight of not more than 14,000 pounds. The Wild
18 Resource Conservation Fund shall receive $15 of each additional
1 fee for [this plate.] the plate issued under this subsection or
2 subsection (b).
3 (b) Special wild resource conservation plate.--In addition
4 to the current design, the department shall provide a design not
5 in the family of plates that depicts a saw-whet owl perched upon
6 a pine tree branch over a yellow-white background with the words
7 "Conserve Wild Resources" at the top of the plate, with the
8 words "Pennsylvania" overlaying a keystone at the bottom of the
9 plate.
10 (c) Allowing previous design.--The department shall allow an
11 individual to use a previously valid registration plate issued
12 by the department that has been discontinued provided the design
13 is not in the family of plates and the registration plate
14 depicts a saw-whet owl perched upon a pine tree branch over a
15 yellow-white background with the words "Conserve Wild Resources"
16 at the top of the plate, with the words "Pennsylvania"
17 overlaying a keystone at the bottom of the plate provided the
18 registration plate meets the requirements of section 1332
19 (relating to display of registration plate) and the alphanumeric
20 pattern on the registration plate is available.
21 Section 2. This act shall take effect in four months.
