AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, in powers of department and local authorities,
3 further providing for authority to erect traffic-control
4 devices.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 6122 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
9 § 6122. Authority to erect traffic-control devices.

11 (e) Payment of costs to install and maintain traffic-control
12 signals.--The department shall pay for the costs associated with
13 the installation and maintenance of traffic-control signals on
14 State-designated highways. If a State-designated highway
15 intersects with a highway under the jurisdiction of a local
16 authority, the department shall pay for the cost of installing
17 and maintaining a traffic-control signal at the intersection in
18 proportion to the number of State-designated highways at the
19 intersection and the local authority shall pay for the balance
1 of the cost.
2 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
