                                      AN ACT
 1   Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
 2      Statutes, in licensing of drivers, further providing for
 3      issuance and content of driver's license.
 4      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 5   hereby enacts as follows:
 6      Section 1.     Section 1510 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
 7   Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
 8   § 1510.    Issuance and content of driver's license.
 9      * * *
10      (a.2)    Autism spectrum disorder designation.--
11             (1)   An individual who is diagnosed with an autism
12      spectrum disorder may request to have a notation of the
13      diagnosis placed on the individual's driver's license or
14      identification card under subsection (b). The individual must
15      present the department with a sworn statement from a
16      qualified medical professional licensed in this Commonwealth
17      verifying the diagnosis. By submitting the request, the
18      individual consents for the department to make public the
 1    diagnosis on the individual's driver's license or
 2    identification card.
 3        (2)   A parent or guardian of an individual under 18 years
 4    of age or under guardianship may request the notation
 5    provided under this subsection to be placed on the
 6    individual's driver's license or identification card. The
 7    parent or guardian must comply with all of the requirements
 8    under paragraph (1).
 9        (3)   The department shall promulgate regulations
10    necessary to administer this subsection.

12    Section 2.    This act shall take effect in 60 days.
