                                    AN ACT
 1   Amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), entitled "An
 2      act to consolidate, editorially revise, and codify the public
 3      welfare laws of the Commonwealth," in public assistance,
 4      providing for distribution of SNAP benefits.
 5      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 6   hereby enacts as follows:
 7      Section 1.    The act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known
 8   as the Human Services Code, is amended by adding a section to
 9   read:
10      Section 476.    Distribution of SNAP Benefits.--Within twelve
11   months of the effective date of this section and every five
12   years thereafter, the department shall analyze SNAP payment
13   distribution schedules based on caseloads and census data,
14   including data from other states and models that utilize more
15   than ten payment issuance days, to determine if changes are
16   needed to the payment distribution schedule. If changes are
17   needed, the department shall develop and implement updates to
18   the payment distribution schedule based on the analysis under
19   this section after consultation with an advisory committee,
1   which provides recommendations to the department on SNAP
2   policies and procedures.
3      Section 2.   This act shall take effect in 60 days.
