A RESOLUTION
1 Recognizing October 3, 2025, as "Kids Music Day" in
2 Pennsylvania.
3 WHEREAS, October 3, 2025, marks the 10th anniversary of "Kids
4 Music Day"; and
5 WHEREAS, "Kids Music Day" is a national holiday founded by
6 the Brookhaven nonprofit Keep Music Alive; and
7 WHEREAS, The mission of Keep Music Alive is to help more
8 children reap the educational, therapeutic and social benefits
9 of playing music; and
10 WHEREAS, More than 80 schools in 24 states participated in
11 the inaugural "Kids Music Day" on October 7, 2016; and
12 WHEREAS, By October 2, 2020, more than 1,000 music schools,
13 music stores and other music organizations across the United
14 States and Canada conducted special events and physical and
15 virtual promotions to celebrate the fifth anniversary of "Kids
16 Music Day"; and
17 WHEREAS, Currently, more than 1,200 music schools, stores and
1 organizations across the United States celebrate "Kids Music
2 Day" each year by offering special events and promotions that
3 benefit children playing music; and
4 WHEREAS, "Kids Music Day" events and activities include
5 musical instrument petting zoos, student performances, both in-
6 house or out in the community, instrument donation drives, kids
7 open mics and more; and
8 WHEREAS, In 2024, nearly 50 Pennsylvania locations
9 participated in the ninth annual "Kids Music Day"; and
10 WHEREAS, "Kids Music Day" is commemorated on the first Friday
11 of October each year; therefore be it
12 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize October
13 3, 2025, as "Kids Music Day" in Pennsylvania.
