        MERSKI, McNEILL, HAMM, CAUSER, SANCHEZ, BURGOS, GUENST,
        MAYES, BOROWSKI, DOUGHERTY, GOUGHNOUR, FREEMAN, MADDEN,
        PASHINSKI, RIVERA, MENTZER, COOPER, CEPEDA-FREYTIZ,
        GALLAGHER, BOYD, FLEMING AND DEASY, APRIL 2, 2026

     REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON VETERANS AFFAIRS AND EMERGENCY
        PREPAREDNESS, APRIL 2, 2026


                                A RESOLUTION
 1   Designating the week of May 17 through 23, 2026, as "Emergency
 2      Medical Services Week" in Pennsylvania.
 3      WHEREAS, Emergency medical services are a vital public
 4   service; and
 5      WHEREAS, The members of emergency medical services teams are
 6   ready to provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a
 7   day, seven days a week; and
 8      WHEREAS, Access to quality emergency care dramatically
 9   improves the survival and recovery rates of those who experience
10   sudden illness or injury; and
11      WHEREAS, Emergency medical services have grown to fill a gap
12   by providing important out-of-hospital care, including
13   preventative medicine, follow-up care and access to
14   telemedicine; and
15      WHEREAS, The emergency medical services system consists of
 1   first responders, emergency medical technicians, paramedics,
 2   emergency medical dispatchers, firefighters, police officers,
 3   educators, administrators, prehospital nurses, emergency nurses,
 4   emergency physicians, trained members of the public and other
 5   out-of-hospital medical care providers; and
 6      WHEREAS, The members of emergency medical services teams,
 7   whether career or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of
 8   specialized training and continuing education to enhance their
 9   lifesaving skills; and
10      WHEREAS, It is appropriate to recognize the value and the
11   accomplishments of emergency medical services providers by
12   designating "Emergency Medical Services Week"; therefore be it
13      RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
14   week of May 17 through 23, 2026, as "Emergency Medical Services
15   Week" in Pennsylvania.
