                                    AN ACT
 1   Amending Title 62 (Procurement) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
 2      Statutes, in contracts for public works, providing for
 3      contracts for information technology commodities and
 4      services.
 5      The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
 6   hereby enacts as follows:
 7      Section 1.    Title 62 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
 8   Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
 9   § 3914.   Contracts for information technology commodities and
10               services.
11      A contract for the procurement of end point devices shall
12   require that those devices, services and solutions be capable of
13   being configured, secured and maintained in a manner that meets
14   the National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines in
15   the National Institute of Standards and Technology Special
16   Publication 800-series that are in effect at the time of the
17   effective date of this section or industry best practices for
18   computer security to the extent that the guidelines or industry
19   best practices are applicable to the end point devices, services
1   and solutions being procured. As used in this section, the term
2   "end point device" shall mean any Internet capable computer
3   hardware device on a transmission control protocol or Internet
4   protocol network.
5      Section 2.   This act shall only apply to a contract entered
6   into on or after the effective date of this section.
7      Section 3.   This act shall take effect in 60 days.
