President Trump called Cassidy disloyal in *** series of social media posts on Saturday, adding, quote, It's nice to see that his political career is over. It's long sought revenge after Cassidy voted to convict President Trump during the 2021 impeachment trial over the January 6th attack on the US Capitol. And as chair of the Senate Health Committee, Cassidy has also been critical of some recent vaccine policy changes. Cassidy finished behind Trump-backed Congresswoman Julia Ludlow, who will now compete against state treasurer John Fleming in *** runoff next month for the Republican Senate nomination in Louisiana. At least for now, President Trump now. Turning his attention to Tuesday's primaries in Kentucky, where he's hoping to push out Republican Congressman Thomas Massey.
