BUD — Budget/Appropriations

Support for FY 2027 appropriations bill including language supporting the adoption of the Financial Accountability in Research (FAIR) model across all federal research agencies. Support for FY 2027 appropriations bill preserving the existing F&A reimbursement system by continuing blocking language until the new model is fully implemented, and ensuring at least a two-year transition period from the time revised guidance is finalized for agencies and institutions to make the necessary changes to accommodate the FAIR model. Support for protecting and maintaining funding for federal student aid programs in FY27 appropriations. Support increased access to the Pell Grant for students and strongly believe that Congress should fully fund the shortfall and place the Pell Grant program on a sustainable path. Support any increase to the current maximum Pell Grant award - an inflationary adjustment to the Pell Grant maximum would be $200. Support for FY2027 appropriations bill that supports Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) funding to be increased to $966.26 million, and Federal Work-Study (FWS) funding be increased to $1.31 billion. Support for Federal TRIO programs funding to be increased to $1.3 billion. Support for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness in Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) funding to be increased to $410 million. Support for Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) program Funding to be increased to $28.6 million to reflect the need for increased investment in American competitiveness.
