Congress and executive agencies have sought to attract international visitors (or “arrivals”) to the United States. For example, India sent the fth-most international arrivals to the United States in 2023, while ranking 22nd in 2000. Where Do U.S. International Arrivals Come From? Note: Analysis included only countries with minimum 100,000 U.S. arrivals in 2023. Washington, DC would have placed 7th on this list, with 1.6 million visitors.
